Created for the Northcoast Redwood Interpretive Association as a fundraising opportunity, using coffees from bird-friendly farmers in North America and Central America, the winter breeding grounds of the Western Tanager. One of the summer homes of these birds are in the Humboldt State Parks.

The purpose of the North Coast Redwood Interpretive Association (NCRIA) is to perpetuate unspoiled natural and cultural resources of the redwood region and to have a public that is educated about and inspired by those resources. The NCRIA has assisted California State Parks since 1976 with educational programs, operating nature stores and visitor centers, and supporting interpretive activities throughout the region
